Terms of Sale

The Talos Tools store at tools.talos-group.com is operated by Talos Group LLC (“we,” “us”). Buying something here means you agree to what's on this page. These terms cover the purchase itself and your download account. Three other documents cover the rest: the licence agreement governs what you may do with the software, the refund policy governs getting your money back, and the privacy policy covers data.
What we sell
Six desktop applications, sold individually as one-time purchases. There is no subscription, no free tier, and no trial— you can't try one before you buy it, which is exactly why the refund window is as long as it is.
One purchase covers both the macOS and the Windows build of that tool. Buy the Image Compressor and you can install it on your Mac and your PC; it's one licence for you, not one per machine.
Prices, currency and tax
Prices are in US dollars. The price you pay is the one shown at checkout at the time you buy. Your bank may add currency conversion or foreign-transaction charges — those are your bank's, not ours, and we can't refund them.
Any sales tax is calculated at checkout based on where you are. We currently sell to customers in the United States only.
Payment and delivery
Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Delivery is a download: once your payment succeeds, the installers become available in your account.
If your payment goes through and the download doesn't appear, email us and we'll sort it out. That's a bug on our side, not a thing you have to argue about.
Your account, and re-downloading
The account exists for one reason: so you can download again later without paying again. It isn't a licence check — the software doesn't talk to it, and nothing we do to an account can affect a copy you've already installed.
We'll keep your purchases available for re-download for as long as this store operates. We're a small company and we're not going to promise you forever, because nobody can. Keep your own copy of anything you rely on — the installer you downloaded will go on working whether or not we do.
What you need to run it
Before you buy, two things worth knowing:
- Windows installers are not code-signed yet.Windows will show a SmartScreen warning the first time you run one, and you'll need to click through it. The software is fine; we haven't bought a code-signing certificate. We're telling you before you pay rather than after.
- macOS builds are signed and notarised by Apple and open normally. Each product page lists the systems that build supports.
Support
Email support@talos-group.com. We aim to reply within a few business days. One person reads that inbox, so we'd rather give you a real answer a day late than a canned one immediately.
Support covers getting the software installed and working, and bugs in what we sold you. It doesn't cover training, custom work, or problems caused by other software on your machine — though if you write in with one of those, we'll still tell you what we know.
Refunds
Thirty days, no questions asked. The details are in the refund policy.
Using the store fairly
Don't try to break into other people's accounts, script the store to hammer it, or resell access to downloads. If you do, we may close your account — which ends re-downloads, and nothing else.
Disclaimers and liability
The software is provided as it is. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TALOS GROUP LLC DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF A PURCHASE IS LIMITED TO WHAT YOU PAID FOR IT.
Nothing here takes away rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived. Where those rights conflict with anything above, those rights win.
If the store closes
If we ever wind this down, we'll say so on this site before turning off downloads, and we'll publish the final installers and their SHA-256 checksums so you can verify what you're getting. The software you already have doesn't need us to keep running — it never did.
Changes to these terms
We may revise this page. When we do, we change the date at the top. A purchase is governed by the version that was live when you made it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
